Adaptive Aquatics

Lessons built around the swimmer, not a timeline

Miss Selenia works with neurodivergent swimmers and swimmers with a wide range of developmental, sensory and physical needs.

Individualized goals

Depending on the swimmer, goals may include water safety, comfort in and around water, confidence, independence, regulation, communication, functional swimming skills and continued stroke development. The emphasis is on meeting each swimmer where they are and helping them progress according to their own abilities and goals.

Connection Before Correction™

The methodology behind every adaptive lesson: safety and trust first, so instruction has somewhere to land.

Inland Regional Center

IRC & Self-Determination Program families

Miss Selenia's Happy Place works with families served by Inland Regional Center (IRC), including families participating in the Self-Determination Program (SDP).

Inland Regional Center serves individuals with developmental disabilities and their families throughout San Bernardino and Riverside counties.

The Self-Determination Program is a voluntary California Regional Center program that gives eligible participants greater control over developing their service plans and selecting providers. Participants receive an individual budget to purchase eligible services and supports based on their Individual Program Plan.

Families interested in using IRC/SDP resources for swim programming should contact Miss Selenia's Happy Place and their IRC Service Coordinator for information specific to their individual plan and eligibility.
